For Fall 2011, lace has successfully landed on the list of trends yet again. This openwork fabric might have seemed like something you would find on your granny’s couch five years ago but it is for the stylish, modern woman these days. Many of the top designers included lace in their Fall 2011 collections. Marc Jacobs had separates such as skirts and tops while Jason Wu placed accents of the fabric on some of his outerwear. Lanvin, Blumarine and Marc Jacobs all sent down fitted dresses varying in length. No matter how it was showcased, one thing was made very clear: lace is sexy.
If you need to add this Fall 2011 must-have in your closet, click over to Net-A-Porter and check out their Marc by Marc Jacobs Dahlia lace and jersey dress. With a tan jersey underlay, this dress is sassy while still being appropriate for the office. They also have Dolce & Gabbana’s super sexy lace and satin bustier dress sure to turn heads for all of the right reasons. Fast fashion retailer, Topshop, has a great lace panel pencil skirt if you’re in the mood for being the hottest lady in the office. To tackle this trend while still maintaining a level of conservatism, tryBCBGeneration’s dart dress or Bebe’s lace sleeve trench coat.
As we type this, we have some of our ladies in the office wearing some lace! So, what does that mean? Lace is in, give it a shot and let us know what you think!
