Marni for H&M Releases a Campaign Video

Every day it feels like a big name brand is teaming up with a fast-fashion retailers. The crown jewel of fashion-fashion team-ups most definitely belongs to H&M as they are about to unleash yet another phenomenal collaboration with Marni. This collection is actually pretty freaking amazing if we do say so. The clothing looks luxurious and Imogen Poots is the perfect combination of sweet and sexy to help showcase the collection.

Watch the Sofia Coppola directed commercial for the collection set to launch on March 8, 2012.

The P59 Link Roundup

H&M is wasting no time with their high-end designer collaborations are they? Check out a leaked ad of the Marni for H&M collection (Fashionologie) which hits stores in March. Speaking of collaborations! Last night, Jason Wu had a party in SoHo in honor of the Jason Wu for Target collection (Fashionista). Blake Lively was late to the red carpet and ended up stealing poor, little Chloe Moretz’s red carpet thunder. Kate Middleton also stole herself some extra attention recently! The Duchess of Cambridge has just been named the Hat Person of the Year by the Headwear Association (E! Online). We bet Princess Beatrice is pissed.

It’s cool if she is because Madonna might feel the same way. In a little teaser video showing her in the studio with M.I.A. (YouTube), Madge decided to bust a move, she was promptly told to stop. Talk about a royal shut down. In other music news, Amy Winehouse’s father is livid (Entertainment Weekly) because of the recent Jean Paul Gaultier show in Paris that payed homage to her (Style.com).

In happier news, Adriana Lima is still showing off her rocking body. The Brazilian stunner has been in St. Barts for a Victoria’s Secret shoot (Pop Sugar) roughing it out in the horrible (read: amazing) conditions. Former VS Angel, Gisele Bundchen, also got her sexy on for the latest Versace Jeans campaign (OHLALA Mag) shot by Mert & Marcus.

And how about this? Angry Birds is coming to Facebook (Engadget). Happy weekend!

H&M Wants to Give One Lucky Student 50K Euros

Good news for all students who are soon to be graduating from one of fourteen prominent European design schools located in the UK, Sweden, Denmark,  Germany, Belgium or Holland. H&M has launched the H&M Design Award which is to help support talented designers and push them “in the right direction, so that they can continue to grow and develop in their work as fashion designers.” Here’s the really awesome thing about this competition: the winner receives 50,000 euros (approximately $64,000 US) and an intense amount of immediate recognition.

In the video below, Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s Head of Design, hooks up with a panel of judges including Cia Jansson, the Creative and Fashion Director of ELLE Sweden. The fashion heavyweights join together to meet the six finalists and decide which would represent Sweden in the overall competition.

We love a good backstory and that is what this online video series is giving! Click over to the H&M Design Award site to watch Isabelle, the Swedish finalist, discuss how deeply her mother has influenced her.

PS, the winner will be revealed on February so make sure you continually check back to the site as more videos are uploaded.

Take a Peak at the Versace for H&M Cruise Campaign

Late last year, Donatella Versace and fast fashion retailer H&M created an absolute media frenzy with their Versace for H&M collaboration. When the collection dropped, the public went bananas. It was as if the clothes had morphed into Justin Beiber and normally civilized and rational adults transformed into screaming prepubescent girls. It was incredible!

We were actually surprised when more collaborations were announced as the retailer typically does one collection and moves on. Well, not this time! By now, we all know that there will be a Versace for H&M Cruise collection but it won’t be available here in the US like the first offering. The Huffington Post has images featuring models Abbey Lee Kershaw sporting some of the Cruise collection pieces which fully embrace a spattering of fruit prints.

The Fashion Spot also has a spattering of pics of what looks to be one luxe ad campaign for the collection. It features top models Abbey Lee Kershaw and River Viiperi. Abbey is sporting some fruit-tastic swimwear and from these shots, we get the feeling that we’re really going to enjoy seeing the finished results.

Shot at P59: H&M Holiday 2011 Filmed by Inez & Vinoodh

With the Black Eyed Peas’ “Just Can’t Get Enough” playing in the background, we inform you that we have more of H&M’s Holiday 2011 campaign for you shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The stills are great, but this time we’ve got the models in motion. Abbey Lee Kershaw busts a move, Bryan Ferry broods, Karen Elson smolders. Let’s just put it this way: you have to watch.
