In just two weeks, it will be a new year and we’re already being bombarded with amazing Spring/Summer 2012 ad campaigns. Before we send the year off, we wanted to take a look back at some of our favorite Fall/Winter 2011 ads. We’ve got image projections, confetti, dancing, spies and high slits are all the rage. Yes, it’s sexy, ya’ll. So, in no particular order, here are our top five Fall 2011 ad campaigns.
GUCCI
Abbey Lee Kershaw sets the tone in the beginning as the leader of the pack, ascending a staircase with her dress flowing effortlessly behind her. In this party at a rich dude’s house (hello, Ke$ha reference!), Joan Smalls and Sigrid Agren also give good face for photographers Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott.
YVES SAINT LAURENT
Oh, disco heaven! Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin bring top model Raquel Zimmerman back in time for this flashy video. We adored the print campaign which was only strengthened once this video dropped.
GIORGIO ARMANI
Mert & Marcus create a celestial world of white light for models Sasha Pivovarova and Diego Fragoso. It’s got slow motion, gazes over the shoulder and Sasha utilizing her unique type of beauty. The only thing we could have done without? That damn flower.
LANVIN
You knew it was coming. Raquel Zimmerman. Karen Elson. Two boys. Alber Elbaz. Pitbull. This campaign video, filmed by Steven Meisel, was a concoction of oddities that created one of the most memorable of the season and of the year.
ALDO
Lily Donaldson and Criminal Minds’ Matthew Gray Gubler get goofy as they play with fire and juggle stuffed tigers. As for Lily’s legs? They are the display of the season! Oh, and guess what? It was totally shot here at Pier59 Digital Studios by Terry Richardson.
