Shot at P59: Daniel Radcliffe for Esquire UK March 2012

For their March 2012 cover, Esquire UK tapped one of the world’s most recognizable celebrities: Daniel Radcliffe. Photographed by Yu Tsai photographs and styled by Catherine Hayward.

In the editorial, Tsai snaps Radcliffe both in Studio 10 and on the exterior of Pier 59 Studios. Check it out via both our Tumblr and Facebook pages!

Shot at P59: W Korea’s 7th Anniversary Issue

W Korea pulled out all of the stops for its March 2012 issue which marks the magazine’s seventh anniversary. Keeping in theme with the number seven, the magazine shot seven covers with seven models. W Korea typically puts one girl on the cover but this time around they went for something slightly different. Two covers include four girls, one of those ensemble covers including a Black model. This is also milestone for the publication, and Korean fashion magazines, as a Black model has never appeared on a cover before.

Anais Mali is the history making model and she is joined by Crystal Renn, Hanne Gaby Odiele, Hyoni Kang, Maryna Linchuk, Julia Nobis and Valerija Kelava all of Ford Models.

Photographer Jang Hyun Hong shot both the cover and editorial story which was produced by Pier 59 Studios Korea. Karina Givargisoff, stylist, had the pleasure of working with the candy-colored Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Set designer Donnie Myers was able to mirror the collection with an equally delicate color story of tulle set in the middle of a room of beautiful destruction. Both group covers and the editorial were retouched by our 59 Still + Motion team.

Make sure you head over to our Tumblr page and Facebook page to see all seven covers and the entire editorial!

Shot at P59: Katharine McPhee for SELF Magazine March 2012

Katharine McPhee is one savvy cookie. Over the years, she has successfully morphed from a reality TV personality to a bonafide triple threat. McPhee first appeared on American Idol where her singing chops took her all the way to the finale. After releasing an album, she began landing roles for film and TV. Now she is tackling Broadway in the NBC series Smash as a young hopeful battling for the part of Marilyn Monroe in a new musical.

In addition to being seen by millions each week on Smash, McPhee currently graces the March 2012 cover of SELF Magazine. Photographer Robert Erdmann snaps the beaming brunette in a body conscious dress selected by Evyan Metzner, SELF‘s Fashion Director.

Shot at P59 West: Nina Dobrev for Nylon February 2012

Nina Dobrev is no stranger to successful teen-centric television series. She spent years on Degarssi: The Next Generation and is currently dealing with the supernatural on The CW’s hit series, The Vampire Diaries. The actress, born in Bulgaria but raised in Canada, is also on this month’s Nylon magazine shot by Editor-In-Chief/photographer Marvin Scott Jarrett.

Shot at P59: Lana Del Rey for T Magazine

Lana Del Rey became an internet phenomenon last year but now the 25-year-old songstress has been signed to NEXT Models and has appeared on numerous magazine covers. With the release of her debut album, Born to Die, which has just charted at #2 on the Billboard 200 album chart and #1 on their Digital Albums chart, Lana has become a bonafide superstar.

Oh, and she also just shot with photographer Terry Richardson for T Magazine

In the accompanying article, we get to read the journalist’s theory on how Lana’s “National Anthem” is similar to Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA.” Does that upset you? It didn’t upset Lana! Upon hearing said theory, she sings a bit of the song, takes a beat to reflect on it and then says ““I really like that chorus.”

Check out the rest of the interview via the T Magazine website and pick up your physical copy when it hits newsstands on February 19.
